Nick Tomassetti

BIO

Mr. Tomassetti is currently President of NRT Associates an aerospace consulting company.

From 1999-2002 Mr. Tomassetti was President and Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Industry of North America Holdings, Inc., where he was responsible for all North American Operations. Previously, Tomassetti was president and chief operating officer of AINA, a post he held since joining the company in September of 1994.

Formerly vice president-general manager of twin-engine aircraft business development for McDonnell Douglas Corp, Tomassetti was responsible for such activities as sales, contracts, market planning, and sales finance. Prior to joining Douglas in 1992, Tomassetti was executive vice president of Pratt & Whitney's Commercial Engine Business organization. During his more than 30 years at Pratt & Whitney, Tomassetti held various positions in management, engineering, marketing and customer support.

In 1981, he was appointed vice president sales and service of Pratt & Whitney's Commercial Products Division and in 1984, he was elected to fill the top marketing position at newly-founded International Aero Engines (IAE), the five nation consortium (of which Pratt & Whitney is a member) formed to develop and market the IAE V2500 aircraft engine. He became president and CEO of IAE in 1987.

A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Nick Tomassetti earned an engineering degree from General Motors Institute and a master's degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He resides in Naples Florida and , Wakefield, RI. He is married to Flora Bella, they have five children and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Tomassetti is a Member of the Board of The International Institute of Sport located at URI and has served in this position since it’s inception. He was elected to the Board of Trustees for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in February of 2002. He currently serves on the Development and Student Life Committees. He also serves on the Boards of Earth First Technologies; Northwest Airlines Airlink, Pinnacle Airlines Corporation; Pantheon Chemical Corporation; and Board Trustee of Rainier Aircraft Investment Notes and Subsidiaries. He is an advisor to Krauthamer Associates, an executive search firm and an Aircraft Advisory Board Member of Republic Finance Corporation.
